Restless Legs Syndrone

I have suffered for 25 the ravages of RLS. I have been on Requip, and anti-depressants. I have tried everything from snake oil to ivory soap under the sheets and everything in between. I have a severe form of RLS that can last for hours and on rare occasions they last all night. The only relief I get is when I am walking or riding my recumbent. Many nights it takes 3 different walks or rides to calm the vicious disorder. Someone recommended I try Sedorum, so I ordered it from Amazon and started taking 4 pills a day... For the first time in 25 years I went to bed and NO RLS. I have even weaned down to 2 pills a day and still NO RLS. I still get RLS during the day when I sit for 30 minutes or so... but I can live with that because 1. I am retired and don't have to sit behind a desk and 2. I am awake and can move around at will. This may not work for you but I have to say it so far is the magic bullet I have been seeking for years. Sedorum contains the following ingredients: Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Calcium Gluconate, Iron, Magnesium Oxide, Valerian Extract, Lemon Balm Extract, GABA Powder, Glycine, Gelatin, Rice Powder, and Magnesium Stearate. I PRAY THIS RELIEF CONTINUES AND HOPE THAT SOMEONE ELSE WHO SUFFERS FROM THIS DISORDER CAN GET RELIEF AS WELL

glad you found something that works for you, how long have you been taking it? ....I will research this for my wife who has RLS...A bar of Ivory soap is under her sheets near the foot of the bed and has seemed to help a great deal...

My mother takes Pramipexole. If she takes two half strength tablets, it doesn't work . One full strength tablet works along with a very occasional Tramadol. I will pass your info on to her so she can discuss it with her doctor. Thanks!

OP, your cousin Nancy also suffers from that and she told me to try magnesium tablets, which have helped. I will tell her that you recommended Sedorum. Wonder if it runs in the family.

I have suffered from RLS since my early twenties forty five yers ago. Some one who hasn't suffered from this affliction or watched a loved one with it will not appreciate the passion in your first sentence.

The only medication that ever worked completelt and effectively for me was an OTC product called "Q-Vel" which the FDA imperiously pulled from the market because of some people abusing the main ingredient, quinine. I have tried and am on a generic Requip (Ropinirole) and to try to sleep I have to greatly exceed the dosage allowed, and then it's still touch and go. The magical Ivory Soap bar application worked like a gem for me for about two or three nights, and my bathroom was filling up with yet to be used soap bars!

I do not like using prescription sleep aids, but some nights that is all that stands between me and needed rest. The next day, I am in a hang over like fog.

Whether this Sedorum works for me or not, I thank you sincerely for sharing this information and your experience with fellow sufferers. God bless you.

Thank you thank you from a fellow RLS sufferer!! I am going to order it right now!

I have very mild RLS. An iron tablet takes care of it.

Bump

trenbarg12 01-07-2016 02:13 PM

Just an update to the problem... I am now 15 days into the treatment and I am still sleeping well. Any RLS problems are taken care of with a small walk... Nothing like I have had in the past. I have reduced my intake from 4 tablets to 2. I know this will not work for everyone as there are different reasons for FLS, but this is surely worth talking to your Doctor about. So 15 straight days of sleep that I haven't had in years. Here are the ingredients listed on the side of the bottle.

Folic Acid 5000 mcg 1250%
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 25 mcg 416%
Calcium (as Calcium Gluconate) 50 mg 5%
Iron (as Amino Acid Chelate) 25 mg 139%
Magnesium (as Magnesium Oxide) 175 mg 44%

Valerian Extract (Valeriana officinalis) (root) 250 mg *
Lemon Balm Extract (Melissa officinalis) (leaf) 50 mg *
GABA Powder 1500 mg *
Glycine 500 mg *
Other Ingredients: Vegetarian Capsule (Hypromellose), Rice Powder, Magnesium Stearate.
*Daily Value Not Established

BjeanJ, it very well may run in our family.... I knew Nancy suffered from it, not aware of anyone else in the fam... I don't want to pass this disorder on to my children.

I've suffered with RLS for 15 years, and took Ropinerol until quite recently when I learned of a homeopathic remedy which did not promote depression. Its a simple compound made at home 500 mg calcium, 400 mg of magnesium 500 mg Calcium and one capsule of Vitamin D. The ready made pills CALMAX can be found online, but home made is less expensive

Just an FYI regarding RLS.....although I'll bet that most of you know this.

Taking an over the counter sleep aid (generic name Diphenhydramine HCI) Also Benedryl (same stuff) can very often cause RLS.

Have you tried running or some other moderately intense (cycling, singles tennis?) exercise to fully relax/fatigue the muscles in your legs?
