Can we have two cars in a Courtyard Villa?

We may put our Virginia house on the market next week. After it sells (hopefully) we would like to come to The Villages and rent a place.

The courtyard villas look like a good place for us to rent. We will have two cars (Honda Accord and a Civic), so we would have to park one in the driveway. Is that allowed?

It is allowed. I just moved from a Villa back to a house. For my purposes the garage was just too small. If you have a golf cart, you can get a small car and cart in the garage. The laundry facilities are in the garage on most villas too. It is a one and a half car garage at best! There are some two car garages but few and far between.
I very much enjoyed the villa though.

We did not buy a CYV because of the narrow angles involved with parking, IMHO lots of accidents waiting to happen

Yes you can. We, and some of our neighbors, keep the second car on the driveway.

The original question was about parking two cars while renting. Yes, one can be parked in the driveway and off to the side, so the one in the garage can get out without moving the one outside.

Not true that most courtyard villas have the laundry in the garage. In the 3-bedroom ones, most have it inside.

IMO it's a mistake to choose a home for purchase here by having the garage or yard as first priority. Neighborhood people and socialization are at the top of the list for many of us who have actually lived here. Who wants a lovely "building" with condescending or mostly decrepit neighbors who never come out?

While renting, learn about the neighborhoods where you're thinking of buying. Go for walks and talk to neighbors who are outdoors, and look at the county appraiser's GIS records to see when most of the homes were last sold.

But courtyard villas are perfect for those of us with dogs. They are all we considered.

I agree but didn't even think about it because our cyv dog-owning neighbors make it the absolute best/friendliest. Have never heard barking other than a good warning bark, either.

You can find CYVs with straight in driveways which allows plenty of room for two cars if it only has one 1/2. Garage. Plenty of CYVs with two car garages also. Most two car garages CYVs are 3 bedrooms, which is great if it's in your budget (usually 20k to 70k higher) Two bed room villas are nothing more that small apartments with small enclosed yard IMO.

Also some CYVs has the washer and dryer up by the garage door IMO it would be hard to do the Landry with car in the garage if you have golf cart in there also?
