Laundry Room Louver Door
Our door from the laundry room into the house is a louver door. Is it really necessary for the door to be a louver door rather than the type of door which is used for the bedrooms, baths and other areas in the house? We have a gas dryer.
The reason I'm asking is I would think the sounds from the washer and dryer would be more muffled in the house when the appliances are in use. Do the appliances need air flow when in use? Is that why the door is a louver door? Would it be dangerous to change out that door for a door without the slats? Thank you. |
Where is your return air filter for the A/C system? If it is in the laundry room then the louvered door is necessary for air circulation.

Yes. Gas dryers need adequate ventilation. This is the reason for the louvered door.
