Brissons dog park closed from 12-2 pm

I went to a dog park today ( Brissons) to find it locked. I see the hours close from 12-2. When calling the number, they said it was to give the grass a rest, really?

DonH57 01-08-2016 10:26 PM

Even the grass needs a break from the pee and poo.

Jima64 01-09-2016 07:52 AM

grass being a living thing does need time to renew itself from all the running dogs. look at how a path can be worn down by constant use in the same spot.

The grass may need a break, but then what is it doing from dusk to dawn?

:mornincoffee: Do you mean Brinson Perry Dog Park?

Bogie Shooter 01-09-2016 08:54 AM

Maybe you could go to the park before or after the rest period.

Emmakrock@yahoo.com 01-10-2016 08:21 AM

Dog park.

Yes I suppose that's true but I try to let her get some excercise in between my activities so she isn't sitting all day. And since we are not suppose to by ordinance not let them off leash even in our own yards. It is what it is,I just had never heard of such a thing before. Are they all the same?

Maybe you could call the number and ask about the policy...................

Brinson Park is too small. I think the fact that the grass has to "rest" for two hours a day is proof that it is insufficient for the usage it's getting. We need a larger park in this area.

Following that logic, I don't know why all the dog parks aren't closed from noon until 2 pm.
I agree, the Brinson Perry Dog Park is ridiculously small to handle the dog park needs from CR 466 to CR 466A.
And for anyone with mobility issues, the fact that the dog park is on a hill is preposterous. :ohdear:

Sport and I went there a few times but managing the hill, looking out for unscooped poop, and watching out for aggressive little dogs was way too much to handle. I do have a problem with whoever planned this dog park. It looks like they gave the dogs and their owner's the worst piece of land around just so that they could earn more money. At least, Atlas Dog Park is now down south and Mulberry and Lake Paradise Dog Park are OK.

I have never taken Beau to the Brinson Perry Dog Park as I do not want to risk turning an ankle on that slope. It does seem like a tort lawyer's dream of a dog park.

poorly planned ? how about NOT PLANNED

This dog park was obviously an after thought. It could not have been so poorly planned (I assume), although at least it has some shade (something that Atlas needs badly)
