Griffey to the Hall of Fame! Piazza too!

Congratulations to Ken Griffey Jr. for election to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame by the highest percentage vote in the history of the organization. However, the research is in and proves that .7% of the members of the MLBBWA are brainless egomaniacs and should have to explain and apologize for not voting for Junior.

:agree:

There are always some who like to be contrary to everything that is good. There must be miserable people to know and try to make everyone around them as miserable as they are.

Maybe Derek Jeter will have a shot at 100% but I am not holding my breath as the same people will vote again!

The Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame has become somewhat of a joke. No quarrel with Ken Griffey Jr. being admitted, but Mike Piazza, you've got to be kidding. Over the years, far to many "marginal" all time stars have been admitted to the hall. The likes of Louis Aparacio, Bert Blyleven, Gary Carter, etc. are hardly in the same league as the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron etc.

These are definitely two players who deserve to be in Hall of Fame. Nice to see folks get things right once in awhile.
