michigan lead problem
"President Barack Obama has signed an emergency declaration following a request from Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder that would open the door for federal aid to deal with Flint's water crisis." The republicans want big government to butt out, until they screw up and need it. The governor and his cronies involved with this decision should get prison terms.

Not defending R's in Michigan. But how can EPA be given such a pass, after causing a mess like this in Colorado??
Who would trust this bunch???? See: (CNN) Aug. 20, 2015 -- The city of Durango and La Plata County, Colorado, have declared a state of emergency after a federal cleanup crew accidentally released mine waste into the water. An estimated 1 million gallons of waste water spilled out of an abandoned mine area in the southern part of the state last week, turning the Animas River orange and prompting the Environmental Protection Agency to tell locals to avoid it.... According to the EPA, the spill occurred when one of its teams was using heavy equipment to enter the Gold King Mine, a suspended mine near Durango. Instead of entering the mine and beginning the process of pumping and treating the contaminated water inside as planned, the team accidentally caused it to flow into the nearby Animas River. Before the spill, water carrying "metals pollution" was flowing into a holding area outside the mine........" EPA spill turns Animas River in Colorado a toxic orange - CNN.com |

The same thing is going on in the strip mining areas of Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia etc. Tap water is not safe to drink without at least having it tested first. We always use water filters or drink bottled water. Most of the houses in Flint are older homes and many have lead pipes. How do you fix them?

A little closer to home; have you ever checked your tap water in The Villages? I use a filter on my drinking water, because the water here has so much extra cr@p in it that it ruins everything after a while. I am not saying that the water is any better in any other city or town, but I sure prefer good old deep well water that I had at my last home.
