Rotating Movies @ the Theaters

Wish the powers that be would rotate the movies between the 3 theaters in the squares.

Would love to see a movie but if its in the Rialto-we won't go

When I finish with a movie we like to go to a restaurant & there is not a restaurant in Spanish Springs-that we would go to.

Lake Sumter & Brownwood has a few that we like-but Spanish Springs has zero

Have you talked to the powers to be?

The Rialto usually gets the independent movies. The others seldom get these non-main stream movies. You can talk to the people at these theaters on their respective Facebook pages.

Wow didn't know the Revenant was an independent movie

Waverunner 01-18-2016 05:35 PM

What a great idea! We live near Brownwood and many of the movies we would like to see are at the Rialto. It does make us make different choices.

This would also make a good Villages survey suggestion.

I was never a math person, but wouldn't that lessen the total number of movies available to be shown?

About a year ago when "Gone Girl" came out, they stuck it SS. They were running commercials for the film on TV non-stop, when you walked into Barnes & Nobles they had stacks of the book all over the place and the actors were making the rounds at all the talk shows and morning shows. I emailed the theater using the email on their website saying just this. They responded that same day saying they make deals with studios way in advance of the release date and they put a lot of thought into where they place the films.

We waited until the second week before going and went at 2pm in the afternoon, guess what, the line for that film was out to the door at Rialto. The film ended up taking in $167 million in the U.S. When it's at SS we usually wait until a band that we like is playing, which are Uncle Bob, Rocky & the Rollers or Petrina, then go to a 2:00 showing and maybe get something to eat at Panera's and then see the band.

New Regency Pictures [us]

Not sure if it is. Maybe they did not know how well it would do?

:agree::agree::agree: We've missed 2 movies we wanted to see because it was only playing at Rialto. My complaint about Rialto is too far north for me and I want stadium seating which this theater is the only one that isn't.

It's 10 miles from the Rialto to the Barnstorm. Doesn't everyone have a car?

Common sense is a flower that does not grow in everyone's garden.

capecoralbill 01-18-2016 07:10 PM

Seriously no stadium seating??? Thanks for the "heads up" pun intended.

claricecolin 01-18-2016 07:16 PM

The no stadium seating is what I dislike. However, the movies I have been wanting to see are there so that's where I have to go.

I agree, we can't go to any movies at Rialto because the handicapped seating is all the way in the back of the theater.
