National Pie Day Today 1/23/2016

It's National Pie Day! | American Pie Council

What is your favorite pie?

Mine is cherry but a good key lime sometimes comes in close second. Depends on how good the recipes these are.

I always liked the (butternut) squash pie my Mom made. It is similar to pumpkin, but not as strong a flavor. I've never seen it anywhere outside of New England. I miss it. Blueberry pie made with native Maine berries is a close second.

My grandmother, who was born in Lycoming County, PA, used to bake something that she called a graham cracker cream pie. Very sweet, but it was great.

if I went by the pies my mother made, variety wouldn't matter they would all be burnt pie. I like and make a good strawberry rhubarb or raspberry apple pie.
:mmmm:

Although I haven't had it in ages the diner where we lived used to make a Boston Cream pie that people would travel miles to eat.
I don't know if I ever tasted a pumpkin pie made with fresh pumpkins. Is there a taste difference?
