The Finest Hours*(2016) - Rotten Tomatoes

I would be quite interested in hearing what people thought of this here in the Villages, Florida?

Here's a CBS News video of this movie.

Wow! One of the greater movies in my view. See in 3D.
Based on true story of greatest small vessel rescue in history of Coast Guard.
I like swashbuckling and heroes...the love story is overdone, but who cares?

My sister-in-law Laura gave it 4/5 stars after we had seen it at the Old Mill Playhouse last week. I gave it 3/5.

I dislike watching nature shows shot in caves. Can't stand small spaces. As you say, I can't breathe.

Chachacha and kittygilchrist,

My entire life, almost daily, I face my fear of suffocation. Having said that, I have scuba dived and seen the movies that you have mentioned and found that my fear is *my* fear and that when watching those kinds of movies have not been placed personally "at the scenes" so have been able to remain above my fears and enjoy the movies for that which they were intended.

They are good movies so I suggest you both take the risks. I think you will find it worth your while. Simply MHO :)

I think I am a bit biased in my opinion of this film. I spent many summers growing up in Chatham on Cape Cod after the Pendelton disaster and could see the remnants of the ship from my godparents house.
But I did like the film and thought the story was well told especially from the side of what the Coast Guard deals with in their bad weather rescues.
