Spanish Springs Sales Center - moved

I was passing through Spanish Springs today and noticed the large Sales Center was empty...with a note on the door that its function has moved to the corner of Main St and Paige Pl (the old HR building).

There was prior discussion on TOTV about the Sales Center turning into a Hotel. Perhaps this is step one in its evolution. Anybody know any real facts or timelines about the plans for this beautiful building?

I haven't heard anything new about the old building....but they have been working very hard and fast to get the new offices done....the colors are GREAT...it is really brightening up SS.

The thought of turning the building into a hotel is a good one...however the new Marriott may not be too happy with it. It would be gorgeous though!!

When we moved here last November,we had to go to the SS sales office to pick up some documents and get our ID cards. They told us then the sales center was moving to the HR building. Speculation was the sales center would become a hotel.

What goes around comes around

That is where the sales center was when we bought here 7 plus years ago.

If they turn the other building into a hotel it will be one more step (and a major one) toward making us a tourist destination. Not a happy thought. Let's hope it is just a rumor although I don't know what other use the building might have.

Since there will always be homes for sale in TV's, we have to accept that some 'marketing' will always be needed. Be thankful there are such nice places for prospective home buyers to stay, as well as friends and relatives.
I seriously doubt it will ever be marketed as a 'vacation' or 'tourist' spot.
Granted it is a nice golf destination but with places like Myrtle Beach around I think there are many nicer golf destinations.

Cassie325 11-01-2008 09:57 PM

Nicer golf....maybe....but not as inexpensive in my opinion....

It does seem that TV's is turning into more of a destination tourist attraction....BUT.....it does not compare to anywhere in the country....and where else can you ride around in a golf cart....like you can here!

TV's has to change with the times....and the times are changing!!! They have been smart enough to come this far....would doubt they would do something that would make this paradise anything less.....

JMHO!!!

Cassie

It certainly seems as though your entire day is spent monitoring and replying to every thread as well as starting your own on numerous issues. Just a casual observation.

Some of your info is helpful but most seems slanted towards inciting heated discussions where you conveniently add your comments intended to further a contentious issue. eg. Carolyn Kennedy and the Daily Sun

Do you really have another life, or is your mission here to divide us through discord, regardless of your protestations of understanding, harmony, etc.??.

Just curious as you seem to have dominated the totv recently.

We heard from our TV sales rep some months ago that the plan was for a hotel conversion.

Wonder when the monorail and water park go in? Nightly laser shows from LSL will be starting? Maybe they weren't kidding about "Disneyland for adults".

Cassie can defend herself but I read her two posts in this thread over and over and found nothing that was even slightly 'heated'. ??

Back to the thread - I've made other observations about TV becoming a vacation destination. I don't feel that it is necessarily bad though. Using Myrtle Beach as an example I know that a lot of people own permanent homes in that area and the couple that I know love it. People will still want to own in TV despite the vacationers.

Russ, I think Chuckster was referring to Cassie's posts in general and not specifically to this thread. Perhaps out of context in this thread.

Captain, I hear they're going to use the Buffalo Field beside Bob Evans on 466 for the Water Park. :evil6:

Thanks BF - I guess I just don't get around enough.

Russ, it's a testament to the fact that you actually have a life, and don't spend all your time on TOTV! :024:

When we were last over, we asked about the hotel. Our sales rep told us that the local council would not give planning permission for this. Hope they do not have a change of mind!

Interesting information Parrothead. I guess if we call the Villages Offices, they'll tell us what is planned. It's a beautiful building.

I 'heard' the plumbing in place would not be sufficient for a hotel. Maybe Joe will get the job!:evil6:
