A villages first for me.

Today when I was returning home on Calumet Blvd, there was an altercation going on in the middle of the road. :boxing2: A golf cart was stopped on the side and a car was cross ways in the street and two guys were yelling at each other using the same insults, "Idiot" "Moron." I tried to calm them down, but to no avail, in fact, they were starting to direct their sidelong comments toward me. :faint:

It appears that each thought the other failed to yield or some such thing. In any event, they challenged each other to a fist fight. Like two bulls, or teenagers, (whichever applies) they were nose to nose shouting insults. By this time, traffic was stopped in every which direction, all cockeyed in the street. Now, some guys who were up on the Lopez green came down to the road and helped me try to calm things.

It appeared for a long while that the two were going to do battle.:boxing2: They separated three different times and came back at each other.

Finally, they parted company, still shouting at each other. One guy said in parting, "you better hope I never catch to when you are alone."

I was sure that it was gong to be an all out brawl, but thankfully not. I haven't seen that kind of thing in a long time. They just would not cool down. It was pretty ugly.

Altercation

That just goes to prove that all horses a--es aren't on horses

Very sad to hear that and we have not reached the 100,000 population yet!

TH - Did you happen to notice if they had out-of-state license plates? Would be interesting to know.

How pathetic is that !

I'm sure that behavior is not typical of TV -

and I'm just curious as to what the actual population of TV is........ in season / and out of season ?

I don't recall ever witnessing that type of bad behavior by adults, ever ...... ever in NYC ..... ever in Miami ...... certainly not in my little podunk town :ohdear:

When it comes to an altercation between an automobile and a golf cart, my money is on the automobile every time. If the driver wants to be a jerk go ahead and let them. You can die being right.

This goes to my earlier thread re: Grumpy Old Men

It's a very strange phenomenon here!

I guess I'll have to hit the weights before I come back down;)

SookeyJo 11-10-2008 10:59 AM

The incident (almost colliding) probably scared the dickens out of both of them :22yikes: and they just lost control of their tempers. I'm thankful neither of them were hurt and both will be a little more careful from now on.

Altercation

I know just how the auto drive feels. This has happened to me twice now and one time could have been pretty messy. I drive a "Great White" pick-u-up " truck and there is not way a cart is going to last under my wheels! :ohdear: I am not a mind reader and just because you cross over in my lane and then stick your arm out pointing somewhere doesn't mean I can respond to your actions. I don't believe some cart drivers and vehicle drivers, even look, just move out! and sometimes they come out of nowhere, it seems, and it can be pretty shocking to say the least. I alway give right of way to the carts crossing at the guard houses because it is just easier for me to let them go then to guess what they are up to.:coolsmiley:
This comment is not directed to drivers but sharing the road is not all that differcult if you don't feel like you always have to be first!
Take care all you driver's no matter what you drive!:icon_wink:

Just a thought......

The thing is........ now when I drive around my area, I have to worry about running into Bambi.

But, when I finally get to visit and drive around in TV - I'll have to worry about running into someone in a golf cart  If I drive slowly and carefully, will that irritate the drivers behind me? How do you deal with that? :boxing2:

CIB,

Oregon must really be heaven. This behavior is very common here. Sad but true:sad:

No CIB, you wouldn't irritate drivers behind you because the speed limit in most areas of TV is 35-40 mph.

I can't agree that that sort of altercation or road rage is typical in TV. Six years of living here and have NEVER seen such rage. Most everyone I've met up with are so very very friendly.

ConeyIsBabe 11-10-2008 09:35 PM

I see a difference of opinion.....

.... regarding the "road rage" event in TV.... I guess it depends on one's personal knowledge and experience.

Local Oregoneons are very, very courteous... they STOP their vehicles at crosswalks when anyone wants to cross. They pull-over their vehicles when they hear sirens. They let you pass them. They let you in the lane when you signal. Coming to Oregon from MIAMI FL where road-rage really is common, with guns shooting at you, I do appreciate the courteous people in Oregon.

Too bad the winter weather :cus: :cus:

Amazing that over 60 guys still have that much testosterone raging in their systems.
