I had been talking back and forth with a few of you about enclosing our lanai over the last 9 months, asking for suggestions on contractors, etc. I thought some of you might like to see the final product. We were able to reuse our coolaroo blinds by resizing them ourselves which saved us a boatload of money. I also did some thrift shopping here and there and found some great sales and some furniture on TOTV.

You did a great job. It is lovely and welcoming. Good for you!

Nice work! I love rooms that let the outside in.

You would laugh if you could see me trying to make the pictures bigger on my iPad. I really like your window treatments and I can't tell for sure if the fabric has a flame stitch pattern. I think it does. Flame stitch is one of my favorites. Traditional and modern at the same time. Anyway, the soft framing of the view while letting in all that light looks lovely.

I like the calm colors you chose, too. Nice work!

Very nice! Yes we would love to know contractor name.

The contractor was Brian Terry Vinyl. He did the bird cage and all of the structural work and prepared the room for drywall. I subbed out the drywall and tile (Alexander Tile and Marble) and moldings (Trimworks) myself. The lanai floor stain was by Cost for Less. Very happy with everything. It may have taken a little longer than some contractors but I went with them because they had a very good rating on BBB and on Angie's list. I interviewed a few others but lack of references made me not choose them. These are low E double pane tinted windows.

:posting: Now, I am on my laptop or tablet or whatever this thing on my desk is called. But I STILL cannot see if that pattern is flame stitch. (sometimes written as flamestitch)

Flamestitch (flame stitch, ohhhhhh, the angst, the angst over which one) looks kind of like the Dow-Jones Average.

The pattern can be in many versions, but the zig and the zag are always uneven, like flames. Here is one example.......

Williamsburg FINNIE FLAMESTITCH LEMONGRASS - DecorativeFabricsDirect.com

I can't tell what your pattern is. It could be a chevron design, which is more even. Or it might be flame stitch. Or it might be a modern nod to flamestitch.

But whatever it is, it looks great. And now I must get out of here before I start going on and on about other patterns like herringbone and houndstooth and windowpane and paisley........

Anyway, you dun good. :)

YAY! Now, I know! Thank you.

I am now typing on my phone. But I can see the pattern you linked. Mystery solved! Chevron it is. Looks great! :)
