cycle clubs in TV
 

I really think that the large groups of bicycle riders,around 20 or more, should have a chase car with flashing lights to lead them. This morning about 30 coming through Stillwater coming out of Sumter Landing really have no regard of car traffic. Either that or ride on the MMP after all that is what those were designed for. It's for your safety. Just my thoughts thats all.

It's called gang mentality. They don't ride like that when they are solo.

Look at it this way;


We don't have old cars driving slowly past homes here and randomly shooting at houses. It's all good.

If there was a group that large or anywhere near it we deserve the criticism. I will ask our safety officier for SLBC to address this with our members. I agree I t is difficult and unsafe getting around a group that large.

Oh this WILL be interesting........Let's see the car MUST stop a stop signs, and yield at traffic circles. I can just see 30 bicycles crashing into the back of the car............:wave::wave:.

Seriously, in my younger days, we always used 2 escort cars, and CB radios, a lead car, and a trailing car, with all of the cyclist between these 2 cars. This was on back roads, with very little traffic. We also had signs on the cars warning drivers of the cyclists. No idea how this would work in TV. I see groups of 15 to 20 or more several times per month, from my house on Pinellas Place, not sure how they handle the roundabout with the auto traffic, but they head that way. There is a tunnel in the area, but either path could prove to be very interesting if there is GC or car traffic.
Now I am curious, and will need to go out at the expected time and see where they go and how.
