Golf cart replacement batteries
Does anyone know about The Battery Brothers? Comparing
prices right now and thought I'd see if anyone has used them. |
The best. I've used them 3 times!
|
Careful. There are two companies with similar names. I've used Battery Boys with great success. They are located in Oxford and do a great job with replacement batteries for carts, including cleaning up the battery tray and making sure the cables are good.
I have no experience with Battery Brothers, maybe someone else on the board has. |
I could be wrong, but I think The Battery Boy, either bought Battery Brothers or put them out of business.
|
I have not used them, I have talked to them. I am interested in what you learn.
Two things give me pause, I have never talked to anyone that has used them and they deal Deka batteries. Is either of the reasons negative? Absolutely not, it is just something I would have to understand more before not using Trojan from Battery Boys or Spano. I hope you get some responses... |

I've never heard of Battery Brothers - this is an interesting thread. |
Battery Boys is who you want. They sell Trojans and other brands. Their signature series under their own name are made by Crown. A very reputable battery company specializing in marine and fork lifts. The price is about the same as Trojans but these guys seem to think they have a slight edge over the Trojans. I purchased a set from them 3 years ago - no problems to date. They have a web page with prices listed.

Battery Boys did a terrific job of replacing my batteries several years ago. I was impressed with how meticulous they were.
|
Battery Boys, in my opinion, only way to go. Their service and product are excellent. When their done you really feel you chose the right battery and installer.

Never heard of Battery Brothers. Battery Boys is the company I use, Very good service and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

Battery Boys replaced our batteries 2 1/2 years ago. The first set lasted almost 5 years - original manufacturer. Battery Boys convinced us (I was reluctant but went along with them) that Crown batteries were better than Trojan. 2 1/2 years later they are not doing well. One went bad and they sold me a replacement battery. They told me a couple months ago that they no longer carry Crown. Needless to say I'm not happy with Battery Boys.

Are most people going with 8 6volt batteries? What modifications are needed in a club car circa 2002?

Converting 6-8v to 8-6v in 2002 club car ds
I know a little something about that. There are two options I have been involved with if you have an interest let me know. One I did myself and the other was done by my Dad, much simpler and less work (Dad is very smart :)). Mine was documented to some degree here...
https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ght=experience That said there is a new Trojan battery called the Ranger (I think) that has about 90% of the capacity of 8 T105s. This may be a better option if you do not wish to take on the project to make room.... ... or give jimbo2012 a ring... solar + rangers... you could drive for miles and miles and miles... |
there are two threads worth reviewing
https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ighlight=solar https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ighlight=solar IN lead acid batteries Trojan has the market, the best is the Rangers, they add 35% power. We have the best price on Trojan Trojan T-875’s $649 Trojan T-890’s $849 Trojan Rangers $959. |
