Carbon Monoxide Alarm

My alarm had developed an affinity for beeping, signaling a bad battery, but having replaced four different batteries the alert kept sounding.

Someone told me he had success by replacing batteries in every alarm. I tried this, but no success.

I took the alarm to Lowe's and the gentleman told me the only batttery that will work in the CO alarm is an Energizer. Silly me, I thought a 9 volt was a 9 volt.

I installed the Energizer battery, and the beeping stopped.

The fellow at Lowe's showed me an article written about the alarm in which the directive was to use only Energizer with the CO alarm installed by the builder here in TV.

Prizmz,

Now, that is a new one....learn something new everyday. Fortunately, I think our spare 9V are Energizers. Who woulda thunk it???

Thanks for sharing this tidbit. I'm sure it will come in handy for many Villagers in the future.

WOW, thanks a million.

We have two homes in TV (one a rental). Both are 4 years old and both had this problem with the CO detectors. I just finished installing an Energizer battery in one and am not experiencing any problems now.

Again thanks. Everyone that has a CO detector should take note of this.
