Palm Trees and Plants
 

We have been looking at many different Palm plants and trees....

What are your favorites?

We liked the Sylvester Palm Tree...but they seem to unbelievably expensive!!! WOW!

Anyone have a favorite tree or plant....we love the tropical/palm look!!!

We like the Sylvester and Queen Palms.

It really depends on where you are putting it and how many you want to plant. Some are smaller at first and grow slower. (for limited space) Some can be bought fully mature (B&B) at full height. We have installed a few Chinese Fan Palms lately in some Villas without alot of room but still enough for privacy.

you can buy sylvesters in all different sizes which will give you a variety in price, the larger you go the higher the price but they are so pretty they are worth the money

I like European Fan Palms, very hardy and don't grow too tall (10-15').

Also the Chinese fan palm, which is one of the shorter fan palms grows to 20-25' but very slowly and it's exquisite. We didn't want an incredibly tall tree both due to our smaller lot size and the maintenance.

Those look very nice John....I am on a mission to find the name of my new favorite tree. It has about 3 trunks connected at the bottom....but they are all very thin. Then at the very top of each they have beautiful thin palm leaves that stick straight up. I have only seen one in the area and have to grab a picture of it....perhaps if everyone sees it....someone will know what it is! I WANT ONE!!

Jeff, the Florida Extension Service guy (I forget his name) who resides in the county building on 466. get him at a quiet time and he'll talk all day to you.

Lots of free paperwork/info too. He talked to my wife and I about an hour or more on landscaping. He's objective and smart.

am glad you gave me some direction. also are in the village of hemingway. just have the shrubs that cam with the place; and i put in some violas for color.
will have to meet up one of these days.
