Price of Comcast Highspeed Internet

My monthly fee was $22.95 when I signed on with Comcast .. obviously an "introductory" offer to get business. My monthly fee is now $45.95.

Is this the amount every pays for highspeed internet service in TV?

Close. Mine is $46.16 monthly for Comcast.

Mine is $24.95 as part of the triple play bundle. You may want to think about disconnecting when you leave then when you return in the fall I think having been without service for 6 months you'll be considered a new customer and will qualify for any discounted programs....GN

I believe there are two connection speeds. I have the slow speed and I think it is about 25 bucks. I had the faster speed on an intro offer and when I went to slower speed I noticed no difference. If you download music, movies etc. the faster connection may be worth it.

A call to Comcast may be of help.

Gee, it almost seems as if their price depends on who you talked to. I just got off the phone with them an hour or so ago. They gave me the following prices (probably do not include taxes):

1MB - $39.95
6 MB - $59.95
8 MB - $67.95

Interestingly enough, they gave me the following prices for internet plus basic (local-only) cable:

1 MB - $39.30
6 MB - $57.30
8 MB - $67.30

In other words, there is essentially no extra charge to add basic cable TV to the internet (and actually is cheaper to get the combined service than internet only!).

Because Comcast doesn't provide some of the sports programming that I am looking for and Direct TV does, but, since Direct TV has an extra charge per TV, I am thinking of running Direct TV to the two TVs that I will want to have the full menu of channels (plus the HD DVRs) and then use basic Comcast service to the other TVs where basic network coverage is probably acceptable. This would also give us cable TV backup should bad weather knock out the satellite service.

Comcast does offer "slow-speed" internet service, but I thought it would take forever to even look at TOTV or send an e-mail. I though perhaps there was another company out there offering high-speed service. Embarq?

Golfnut, that is an excellent idea. I should have thought of that last spring when I left. I put my Comcast account "to sleep"! My account was reactivated in the fall which meant I was an existing Comcast customer. If I had cancelled my service in the spring, I would have been eligible for the introductory price again in the fall.

Something for snowbirds to think about. It only saves $150, but we are in a recession!

I pay about $12.XX for limited cable from comcast. Thats about the first 14 or so channels without internet cabled.

Yep, we also pay $12 per month for basic Comcast TV. I don't want to be tempted to watch a lot of TV, so getting 14 basic channels is just fine with me.

However we were paying only $22 for high-speed internet. I was just surprised when it suddenly increased to $45.

At least our Villages Amenities fee creeps up a bit every year, it doesn't double overnight.

Embarq 14.95 works for me. Putting it on suspension when you leave, No problem, and no charge.
