World War II soldier portrait
 

We have a portrait of my father-in-law, a World War II soldier, that needs to be restored. It seems to be a painting, according to the back of the frame. It is framed in a curved-glass oval-ish wooden frame, common to the period. The portrait has been damaged (marked over as well as pierced). I have not found any studio that does this kind of restoration. Are there any Villagers who have had similar work done? Any suggestions are appreciated.
