Consumer Cellular

We have used Verizon for our iPhone service since moving to The Villages five years ago but would like to "shop around" for a more reasonable provider. We aren't big phone users but do like the convenience of smart phones. Has anyone tried Consumer Cellular and would you recommend their service? Thanks

Please stop in and chat with the folks @ Cricket Wireless in La Plaza Grande [near Spanish Springs town square] on Bichara Blvd close to Publix. That service operates on ATT towers and we have no problems with service from ME to FL and all around the Villages.

I have no interest in the business - they just treated me GREAT when I became a subscriber!

We switched over to Consumer Cellular from Verizon a few years ago. We use our cell phones primarily to keep in touch with each thru the day. $32 a month, and when travelling or we know we are going to be using it more, we up the minutes for a month and then readjust. No issues with phones or service at all.

I also recommend Cricket Wireless. They use AT&T towers, and my bill is $35. a month, no contract.

About a year ago we switched from Verizon to Consumer Cellular (CC) - from 1 android smartphone and 1 standard phone to 2 android smartphones. We are very satisfied with CC.

We cut our monthly bill in half. There is no contract so: 1) You can leave whenever you want. 2) If you need more minutes or data or texts for one month, all you do is ask them to increase your package. Then you tell them to return to your original package the next month.

The Verizon phones are not compatible with the CC Network - CC uses ATT or T-Mobile towers. We bought 2 Motorola phones from CC - $150 each which is $30 each less then Motorola sells them.

we have had CC for many years, no problems anywhere we go. Very helpfull and very reasonable. no contracts and can change use any time no charges.

I have had CC for years and used it all over the country with no problems. Very flexible and no contract.

Thanks for all comments! Actually, we did not need new phones. We stopped by Cricket and CC and they were very helpful but there was some question if we could keep our current iPhones. Went into Verizon and they lowered our bill $40 per month which was comparable to the quotes from the other companies for two lines so for now we are staying with Verizon.
