Thought this might be helpful if you are buying a used car in FL.

Anyone with experience in this area who might have some helpful links and/or advice???

If you go to link below and read the next to the last paragraph you will find the "lemon law" does not apply to used vehicles. First sentence: "Buying a car "as is" disclaims all warranties. You should not expect any legal protection if the car is a "lemon." In Florida, there is no Used Car Lemon Law."

I always watch court television and the judge always says, "did you have a mechanic check it, before you bought it"? The judge then goes on to say, "you wouldn't be in court looking to get your money back, if the mechanic checked it".

I think what the OP was referring to is the searchable list of vehicles (midway down the first web page) that were bought back by the manufacturer, and reported to the state of Florida under the provisions of the new car lemon law. The list has the VIN of all the vehicles, so if you're buying a used car, it might be a good idea to check the list before handing over your money.

This is a good start for information about lemon laws and used cars. Florida Lemon Law
