A good win
It's hard to argue that this isn't a win for the President and for all of us who are fed up with the dilution of our core businesses.
Reuters) - U.S. drugmaker Pfizer Inc and Ireland-based Allergan Plc formally announced the scrapping of their $160 billion merger on Wednesday, in a big win for President Barack Obama who has been pushing to curb tax-slashing “inversion” deals. The announcement followed the unveiling of new U.S. Treasury rules on Monday aimed at curbing such deals. The merger would have allowed New York-based Pfizer to cut its tax bill by redomiciling to Ireland, where tax rates are lower. |

Was this something the Obama administration was working on all along? Or was it Bernie that brought up the issue?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...o-lower-taxes/ 3/18/16 "Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders on Friday called on the Treasury Department to step in to stop a merger involving Pfizer that would allow the pharmaceutical giant to move its headquarters overseas to lower its taxes.................... “Blocking this inversion would not only be sound fiscal policy, it would also act as a strong deterrent to other companies that are contemplating similar tax scams,” Sanders said in the letter sent from his Senate office...... “We’ve received the letter and will respond to the Senator in due course, as appropriate,” a Treasury Department spokesman said in a statement. Pfizer declined to comment. But the company has previously said that the merger makes strategic sense and is not structured to move jobs outside the United States." I don't think Obama will take credit if this story is true and Bernie alerted the State Department. I hope Bernie gets the credit and the PR. If Trump sent the letter to the Treasury, it would all over the media by now. |

One of the entertainers is running for president. According to a 2013 comScore public release [5][6], as of December 2012, Google enjoyed a 65.2% share of web search volume worldwide, with 114.7 billion searches that month. "Google now processes over 40,000 search queries every second on average (visualize them here), which translates to over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide." Trump is number 7. Google is used worldwide. Why do you think people all over the world are looking into Trump? I think they are nervous. I wonder if he knows this is going on worldwide. Pick any dictator or world leader, past or present and ask yourself if the entire world took an interest in that person the first time they ran for office in their entire life would history change. Trump is the only politician on the list. The rest are celebrities that teens want to know more about. Teens don't want to know more about Trump. He might be the only adult who adults are looking up. |
