How to refinish Brass?

I have a coffee cart Lucite, glass and Brass..The Brass is pitted and I want to refinish it..Is there a way I can do this myself?

Did you try to use Brasso? Sometimes it will clean off, it might be more oxidation than something wrong with the brass. Sounds like a nice cart, wanna sell it.????

Yes. Since all of the big home fashion designers on HGTV seem to agree that the brass color, or gold color has given over to silver, chrome, or pewter, You might want to either spray the sections with a spray paint if you can tape them off or get a tube of silver (or gold) paint at the craft store and rub the brass sections with it. It is called "Rub n Buff". I buy mine at Michaels. In fact it is a family joke. You never know what I am going to change with it.

I have changed entire large picture frames and a fireplace screen with these iddy biddy tubes of metallic paint that you rub on with your fingers. (It goes a LONG way!) It is permanent and will wash off (or wear off) your hands. lol.
