Why does it seem to be acceptable for people to bring their dogs to other peoples property to do their business. And what can be done to stop it?
I have spoken to one party several times and have been call an a-hole for bringing it up. Once a dog visits your property every other dog in the neighborhood needs to mark his territory in the same spot.

I don't understand it ... he brings the dog to my property to crap and urine and I'm the a-hole.

Take note of the watering zone on your irrigation system.

When you see them out there quickly go to manual watering station # ?.

Actually there is something you can do legally and per the Villages Community Development Districts....per their instructions it is illegal for them to allow their dogs on your lawn as it is your property. There are fines that will be imposed, but they suggest you first ask them politely not to allow there dogs on your lawn. If possible take a photo of them with their dog(all legal). If it happens again then just call the VCDD and let them know what happened and what you have done to correct the problem. The VCDD will contact this person and issue a warning. If that doesn't work then they will pay a fine.

We've had the issue and asked those who do not respect others property. We've had people rant and rave about the villages being dog friendly and that means their dogs can do their business where they want(wrong). We've had them tell us that part of our lawn is a legal right of way and they can let their dog use it as their bathroom(wrong). The right of way part of every lawn is for the utilities to gain access to pipes, cables and such for repairs. You pay the taxes right up to the curbing and are required to keep it looking neat.

Having lived from Hawaii, to California, Maine, Virginia, N. Carolina, Florida and Japan this is the only place where the "Entitled" feel that what's yours is theirs and what's theirs is theirs.

You know how the online paper (which shall not be named-so funny!) posts pics of poor parkers? Without benefit of my 2 cups of coffee this morning, I think it would be funny if it started posting pics of "bad doggies"- NOT their owners, which may get too personal. Bogey Shooter, I hope you're wrong!

I haven't had a dog ( have a cat ) but do love them. In reading this, the thought occurred to me, " just where are people to walk their dogs to relieve themselves?". When Fifi is dancing at the door, you surely won't make it to Doggie Do Run and people complain if she goes at the mail boxes. Surely poop and scoop in the neighborhood is tolerated by most as long as it's not always and only on your yard and not theirs. What am I missing?

There are very few homes that do not have some type of a yard. Even the villas have a small backyard. You scoop the poop out of YOUR yard. If you take your dog to a common area, clean up after your dog and take it home with you to properly dispose.

When Fifi needs to go -- How about your yard. It is not just poop and scoop, the urine is very damaging and cannot be picked up I think it is disrespectful and inconsiderate to let your pets defecate on other owners property while your property remains untouched

My nephew Crosby is a dog. He is a Golden Retriever. I also have other dog friends. Here is a picture, the first water color I painted a little over a year ago of my nephew Crosby. I will tell him you think I am completely wrong on this issue. What did I say that you disagreed with? I think people should be thoughtful. Crosby's mom doesn't let him go on others yards.

We are cat lovers, but are surrounded by dog lovers, whom we are friends with. We have never had a problem with a neighbors dog. All of them have been very careful when walking their dogs and having a bag handy for the occasional poop.
Very sorry to hear the OP is having a problem, and I hope that a common ground can be found so this does not escalate.

Like the saying goes "You don't **** in your own back yard" That being said there's nothing that you can do that won't cause you more stress than you already have.

You beat me to the punch, GG. Fred53, what did Gracie say that is wrong? She said she has cats, loves dogs, and is distressed to see people acting thoughtlessly with their dogs.

Am I missing something? What's wrong with those comments?:shrug:
(And I'm not defending her just because she paints gorgeous animal pictures...)
