polo ponies
When polo season arrives, do the polo players bring their own horses or do they use the horses at the polo grounds?
|
Our regular polo players own their own farms and their own sting of polo ponies. Our international players don't bring their own but rather rent strings because of the cost of flying in their own. One player needs six polo ponies for every game. They change ponies at the end of each chukker.

No, It was Art Carney on the Honeymooners.
Sorry but you are wong. Jackie Gleason was rehearsing for a play at his lodge and Art Carney was helping him. Carney said "pa-lop-onies" instead of polo ponies. That night during the skit at the lodge Gleason pronounced it exactly the same way. He knew the correct pronunciation but Carney's
is what came out. |

Polo Ponies
How's this for an ancient answer...I just saw this post. Many own a string of polo ponies, but those coming from other countries must lease some for the matches. My vet Dr. Carlos Zamora has a string of polo ponies and plays for The Polo club.
