Rec on where to buy a SHIH TZU

Where would one buy a young SHIH TZU?

From a Shih Tzu rescue would be my suggestion.

I got my Lexi at Maple Lane Pups in Marion, Michigan. I liked the fact that Monica keeps the puppies with her family so they are raised around her kids, cats and other dogs. I know she is in Michigan but some people have flown to the Traverse City Airport and met Monica to pick up their pups.

Great idea. There are many dogs that need loving homes.
On most pet rescue sites, you are able to search for a specific breed, and specify young, mature or senior.

Please look at getting a rescue dog. He/she will be forever grateful and will be a wonderful companion.

Poodles and Pooch has Shih Tzus from time to time. I've never dealt with them but I look at their website quite often.

Petfinder. Like match.com for pets. We got our last 2 shih tzus (Buddy & Chip) from their rescue places. They have many (from 3mo old pups....to seniors) dogs including Shih Tzus avail all the time. You can search the site by breed, location, age, etc etc.

Check out the HSSPCA.org website as sometimes they get them in there as well.
Adopt...don't shop!!!

I agree with the others. Please go rescue. There are older babies who have lost their parents and need a new home.

Rescue is my favorite breed. There are so many wonderful rescues here in The Villages

Poodles and Pooches and Maxine's pet connection come to mind.

There are plenty of sweet babies available from rescues in Central Florida. I would suggest you check out Poodle and Pooch Rescue at Dogs for adoption from our Rescue in Orlando FL

My Lucy Lu just came to The Villages after being dumped near the Redlands south of Miami shortly after having puppies. That's what happens to many dogs used for breeding and $$. She is a doll, house trained, smart & sweet as they come. Please consider saving a life.
