The Night Manager

When reading the DS, I always read the television critic's reviews of new show's.

He suggested watching "The Night Manager" with Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleson, based on a book by Phillip LeCarr. It's a six episode event that has had two viewings.

I must say it is well made and engrossing.

I was just wondering if anyone else has tuned in to this AMC offering.

I taped it but was busy watching some of the Third Season of Banshee. Weird show but interesting-- Amish, Italian mobsters, Native Americans, Russian gangsters, ex-convicts, etc. all in a rural area of PA as well as other areas.

I will get around to watching The Night Manager.

I've started watching The Night Manager and I like it a lot.

I'm watching it and I'm completely absorbed with the plot and the fine acting. John le Carre' has long been one of my favorite novelists, and the way this production is treating his work has not disappointed.
As an aside, if you miss an episode you can stream it on your smartphone using the free AMC app at the app store.

We just finished watching the final episode. Hugh Laurie played pure ice-cold evil! I had to follow it through to the end.

Great series, engaging and well done.

Yes, I watched it and enjoyed it, but not my favorite. Loved Hugh Laurie as the villian.

I think Hugh Laurie is great and will watch almost anything with him in it (not House). His bits with Stephen Fry and his roles in Black Adder are comedy genius.

:agree:

Always knew that Jonathan would wind-up with Jeb.

Wish they would have elaborated on those English turkeys, that Angela was having problems with and their punishment in being collaborators with Dickie Roper.

I thought Hugh Laurie was magnificent as the villain. Loved the scenery of the places they stayed at, for the first three episodes.
