Contractor to remove sliding glass door

Has anyone used a contractor to remove a sliding glass door and fill the hole with a wall? I have a 6' slider from the master bedroom to the lanai that I would like to seal. It would require a block wall with stucco on one side and sheetrock on the bedroom side. Any info would be appreciated.

Agree with x-Cell, they are doing an addition right now on our home and it has been a pleasant experience.
But do expect a mess when they do the sheetrock, even with plastic there is no getting around the dust!

Thank you for the replies. I wonder if he will do such a small job.

You may want to check with Sumter County that you may do this. I believe there is a fire code that requires a second means of egress from a bedroom.

Your sliding door may be serving that purpose. I believe a 4 foot wide window will suffice.

A window will meet egress as long as it is a minimum 24 inch tall by a minimum 20 inch wide and no more than 44 inches from floor. 5.7 sq feet. This not only allows you out but a firefighter in.
