No fish on lopez

We live on a no fish pond that for the last two days have been fished out. They leave w a cooler full of fish as we watch and can do nothing. At least put up a sign if your not going to speak to these locals. Now I'm told Morse won't allow signs. It's not right.

Was Community Watch called? Did they come by to see the people fishing? If so, what was their explanation?

How calling Florida Fish and Game when you see them there.

Definitely, you should have called Community Watch or the Sheriffs office.

If no one calls, how are the authorities supposed to know?

You, also, could have explained nicely to the fishermen that it is a no fishing pond. Did they appear to be Villagers?

Are there no fishing signs posted? Only few retention ponds that can't be fished which they'd have signs posted. I sure wouldn't eat any of the fish out of retention pond. But, they are fun to catch and release.

If it is truly a no fish pond, the community watch people will respond immediately if you call them.

just wondering what constitutes a no fish pond when there are no signs saying as much. the developer does put 'no fishing' signs on the ponds that shouldn't be fished.

As per the rules if sign posted it means no fishing or listed in the rules (example cherry lake and pond by the sheriff office/DMV off 466 and morse) Usually retention ponds out in the golf courses are off limits cause you have to trustpass to get to them and of course safety concerns due to flying golf balls.

retention ponds that don't have signs and are not out in the golf courses are usually ok to fish. But, some my go dry and of course no fish in them. Good idea watch the birds you see bunch most likely they are catching fish. I garrentee the birds catch more fish than fishermen ever will.

The op didn't come back and response or give information if it had signs or its location. So it's hard to determine if it can or can't be fished by the rule posts earlier.

Good example are ponds with street access or cart path access. Usually, but not always there will be sign no fishing beyond this point cause getting too close to fairways.

Again wouldn't catch me eating the fish from retention ponds and if I remember correctly there is catch and release rule throughout the villges retention pond system.

Eating fish caught in a retention pond would be punishment enough. :yuck: :yuck:

Could you please provide me the exact location of the pond in question. Give me a street intersection, behind house address ????, hole number.....

I had no idea there were so many ponds in The Villages available for fishing.
