The Villages population 51,000?

jblum315 05-04-2016 12:06 PM

well, when it was 51,000 it WAS the best place to retire. At least 50,000 people thought so anyway

The best place to retire is the place that you personally choose as your best place to retire.

Agree. But it certainly doesn't hurt to consider the opinions of many other retirees. :)

Hi poplar bear: Its implied in my comments that as to the choice of location to retire to would include research. After much research and personal visits to various southern states from 1999 until my move in 2006, including two visits to The Villages we bought here with some reservations but nothing in this world is perfect.

My comments were really aimed at not developing "buyers remorse"
which requires that one "own" their decisions in life. I do not dwell on my decisions and I do not need a magazine to tell me that I made the right choice

I agree. I would never look at a magazine article as any sort of validation. But that doesn't mean I might not read it...just for fun! :)

Some people have research several options for retirement in various parts of the country.

I was in TV for four days and I knew it was for me!!!

I didn't feel the need to look any further.

I like The Villages because of the massive amount of Estate Sales.
