To everyone who displays an American Flag.
 

The president has proclaimed that, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, all flags be flown at half-staff on this Sunday, May 15.

He also encourages all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes and businesses on that day.

Peace Officers Memorial Day honors the more than 20,000 U.S. law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I was completely disgusted as I drove to play golf yesterday and noticed that not one residents flag was at half-staff. Not even all of the flags at golf courses were at half-staff. Of course I did not see every flag in TV but I did see a representative sample. I guess that many people in TV think that their flag is just a decoration or they do not have any respect for our police officers who made the supreme sacrifice. Did anyone see a majority of the flags in their neighborhood at half-staff?

I meant to and forgot. We are busy and active and have good intentions and then another day is gone..

RALPHY....you will go far and wide to find a place with more patriotism than The Villages. We were born and raised in an era where we honored our country and it's flag. You will see people stand and salute or put their hands over their hearts when the colors go by in parades. We have MANY brave men and women among us who served protecting that flag. We have many, many, scout leaders and mothers and teachers who taught children how to handle the flag and to always respect it. We have great respect here for law enforcement as well. Again, you will see these old values living proud and well among us. Don't fuss at us. You are preaching to the choir.
