Excellent advice, but as the proliferation of reality shows have shown, some people thrive on drama and when there is none they feel compelled to create it.

There are dramas that people should get involved with especially when many beckon you to do so. This is one of the correct peeves that the author of Leisureville had about the Villagers that they are not engaged enough in their hometown communities but just exist now in their bubble. I know that is not the case from talking to many Villagers and seeing how much they are still involved with their home towns as well as with various relatives especially their grand kids. Andrew D. You are wise to do so.

There is often a dog around too with big teeth which might take offense. I try not to raise my voice around animals that have much bigger mouths than I have. Even if I have heard, I believe, my 224 613 Project referred to as a dragon. It is usually far off doing fun stuff in Los Angeles, NYC, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, Paris, London, and especially Reno and Las Vegas, NV. And it is a figurative dragon which does not do me much good facing an angry dog. It is mine and many others' creation but it does its own thing.

Involvement is not a bad thing, instigating or supporting drama, to me, is. I also believe that the reason many are not involved in The Villages is they are very happy and satisfied on how this place is being managed. From my experience, the disgruntled are the minority.

That's true. And I have been very much enamored with The Blacklist which does have a few important Villages' connections unless I am misreading stuff. So many leaps of faith on the part of myself as well as others who I expect have put some faith in me. And we will have to see what happens at the end of this Season of The Blacklist with the Megan Boone played character Elizabeth Keen. I think she is going to pull a Jon Snow of sorts (come back from the dead). I have no inside information though.

I have enjoyed my eleven years in the Villages since moving here in mid 2005 from Palm Harbor, FL. Sometimes benevolent rule by a prominent family is a good thing. It has been for the Villages. There are a few problems here and there but nothing really serious.
