No more Scooter?

My wife will be very upset if she can’t see Scooter the DJ at the squares. According to the other on line news in a letter to the editor, rumor has it that “the entertainment department is going to do away with all DJ’s that entertain the residents at all the squares”. Is line dancing the problem? I hope that this rumor is not correct!

Sure hope that's just another Rumor.

I believe Scooter was at LSL last night. He is very popular. I can't see them doing away with an act that brings lots of people to the squares.

Same letter says, "all line dancers will be band from dancing at the squares".

She said "next thing we'll hear is that all line dancers will be BAND from dancing at the squares."

Here ya go Mr. TwoPlane. The number for the recreation department. 352) 750-5411

Please let us know about Scooter and the banding of the line dancers.

I wonder if the original rumor had more to do with banning of motor scooters on mm paths?

If they would play Mozart they would line dance to it.

So true.

Didn't know there was so many line dance haters in the villages? Far as I know line dancing not against village law yet like maybe polka:eclipsee_gold_cup:

You know once start ruling out the unwanted by few where does it stop? What's next golfers that can't drive 50 yards? Tennis players that can't hit over the ball. Pickleball players that can't dink. Softball players that can't run? And last but not the end, dancers that can't dance.

The squares should all be about having fun. No matter what is happening you can join in.

graciegirl 05-21-2016 05:16 AM

I like line dancers, but not so much the ones who bop people. Actually I am jealous of them, all moving in perfect unison. I zig when I should zag.

I am just trying to point out that it COULD be a rumor, Scooter and the line dancers running off with each other .

To Stonecrest, on Motor Scooters.

It looks like it was a Petition to ban line dancers from the Squares. I could be wrong though.

After they are band?

Could be a legal liability thing if the Petition was to keep the line dancing not stop it??

I would not think they would have much of a case though if someone got injured by line dancing. It is an assumption of risk like playing golf and getting hit by an errant ball. Maybe if you are swimming in a pool and get hit by a golf ball and drown. Highly unlikely but it could happen.

My Dad had a friend from college who later in life had drunk from a beer bottle on a golf course and the bee that was in it took offense when he drank. He did not know there was a bee in there and swallowed. His throat swelled up and he could not breathe. Bee Inside Beer Bottle Blamed In Golfer`s Death - tribunedigital-chicagotribune

There you go! Beer should be band from golf courses.
