Painter for driveway does not return calls
 

Grant Fishpaw,Custom Interior/Exterior Painting This painter for concrete driveway has not return my calls since the beginning of May. If he does not want to do the job, this man should say so.

Where did you find this guy he's not listed with the state, doesn't seem to have a listed Phone No, and I cant find a listing with Google. I hope you didn't give him any money. What address was on his insurance papers. Was his company name painted on his truck? These are a few things to look for when hiring a contractor. PS. We don't do driveways I not soliciting business just trying to help Len Mary & Chris

if you want someone that does great work, shows up when expected and is very reasonable, Driveways by Jay, he can be reached at: 877-713-2902, you will get Ed Duggan who does the estimating and scheduling. Jay has done our driveway and the Lanai/birdcage, excellent work. He has done several driveways on our street alone.

Try costless driveway. Excellent work and followup call 255-6535 hank have used them on both my houses

If they can't/won't call back, how reliable can they be?

I walked away from a contractor after he did not return my first call stating he had the project. Too bad, he had good ratings on ToTV. Found another contractor for $50 more ($1600 project) and was completely satisfied. In general, using the search function on this site I have found very good info. I have no idea why the contractor never got back to me, his loss.

You might also want to talk to and get an estimate from Decrotive Concrete. They did both our garage and driveway two years ago and it looks like the first day it was completed. You can also do a search here and find a bunch of other people who have used Cliff and are extrememtly satisfied. He has been in The Villages for over 20 years.....you don't survive that long without a good customer base. Also curious where you found Grant?

Consider this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, If any contractor does not return calls,,,,,,,,,,,,,, DROP IT, he is showing you how he does business!!!! Hey, How about this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,? type up a short contract, show a start date, a finish date, a total maximum cost and a statement, in good weather, if workers do not show up, the contract is cancelled for sure. Give them a copy, have one for your own files, document, document, document. Take pictures of any problems, do it!!!! Have them sign it before they start. Also Senior Crime will register your inquiries. We really blew it with an informal contract for concrete paint with Xcalifbur,,,,,,,,,,,,,, what a bummer of a group. Sam the main guy is ready to explode at any time. DO NOT GO THERE.

In Feb. he was recommended to me, and he did come out to see the job. He quoted me a price. I did not give him any money down. We agreed. I had a renter in the Villa at the time, I said the April would be good. Again, we agreed . In April l called him, he had gone through a knee surgery he asked me to wait until May. As of May 2, l have called him, and he has not returned any of my calls.

Being a Brookly person also, I did not give him any money down. We agreed. I had a renter in the Villa at the time, I said the April would be good. Again, we agreed . He was referred to me,l guess the referral was not to reliable. Thank G-D l did not give him any money.

There was a typo , Above my post it shows Grant Fishtail, painter's name is Grant Fishpaw. Beware of him, . I was referred to him,not a good recommendation. As we see he is not reliable . I never gave money up front.

If any contractor does not respond, if he does not have an answering machine, if he does not keep his word on anything,,,,,, THEN DROP IT, HE IS SHOWING YOU HOW HE DOES BUSINESS. He will continue to do business that way, drop it right away.
There are plenty of coating and painting contractors. Plenty, do not mess around with them. DO NOT USE XCALIBUR COATINGS.

I believe if they called finally after many calls by me I would have to say "I will have to get back with you I am busy at the moment" Then I would forget them and see how many times they tried to contact me.
