Did You See the Launch Tonight?
Did anybody else watch the launch tonight?
http://spaceflightnow.com/delta/d337/status.html Scroll down to view the entire launch sequence from the bottom up. The only information we could find was online. I was a little surprised that the local news didn't scroll info along the bottom of the TV screen. It might be 'old hat' to the rest of you, but it was a real thrill for me. The launch was postponed and postponed. It was originally scheduled for 7:33 so we checked the computer, ran outside, back inside to refresh the launch page, back outside, back inside, back outside... About 2 hours later, at T minus 2 minutes, we went back outside and saw the sky light up at launch time! Yay! It was a beautifully clear night, and we could see the bright orange glow of the rocket engines all the way to engine shutdown. :coolsmiley: This is definitely one of the best parts of living here! You can just walk out on your lanai and watch rockets soar into space! I love this stuff! :a040: |
They never go off when I am there. :undecided:
|
Tony, if you'd come here more often you might get to see one.
UU, we saw it when we were coming home and my brother noticed it but I was taking cover as I thought it was an invasion from MARS!!!!! Funny that we didn't know about it, that was a good excuse for a PARTY!! :pepper2: |

Kath, it would have been a great excuse for a party! We could have taken Nonie out to see it, but she'd probably think this one was going to Target! Hahaha:1rotfl: Since she thought the last on went to Wal-mart! |
Back to the thread before Kathie hijacked it. UUJudy - I stood outside and watched starting at 7:33 but obviously it did not go off. Is there a source of info that tells you when it is delayed and when it might go off? I am so sorry I missed it - it was a very clear night.
