New German restaurant coming to TV

The Villages Gourmet Club's Facebook Page has just announced that Brownwood Paddock Square is getting a new German restaurant.
Hooray! That's just what we need!

According to the Village Gourmet site it says "Originally opened July 24, 2014 as Las Tapas Spanish Tapas Bar Restaurant and Brewery , it will soon change to a German-European restaurant, keeping the brewery portion. New chef is working on the menu. Bill Doherty's "Singing Servers" will perform on Thursdays at 5:30 PM. A summer 2016 grand re-opening is expected. Richard Heston remains owner."
So it doesn't look like we're getting another restaurant, just a cuisine change if I'm reading this correctly.

Glad to hear that. German Restaurant is a different choice. Tapas wasn't my cup of tea but German I can do. Wish them luck.

If Las Tapas couldn't make it why would a German one be successful?

Las tapas was hit and miss for food. German food and Europe food if done well will be great. Good food is abundant here. Great food is hard to find. But just my opinion. That's why we continue home cooked meals.

Well that explains the "Under New Management" signs and signs touting German food....it did seem a little strange that Las Tapas was adding German items to their menu!

Las Tapas had really good food but hardly a Spanish tapas restaurant atmosphere. I feel that hurt its success, because the expected dining experience just wasn't there. Hopefully, there will be more of a German feel to the new place.

Ya. Gute. Mein Schatz.

I have been to my share of German Restaurants, and highly touted ones. They never tasted as good to me as that served at home. I always thought that it was because the stuff served there was from another part of Germany than my Grandparents were from.

We always liked Las Tapas, but the recent menu changes made it apparent not enough other people did. Not sure how German will do, but it makes sense with the brewery setup.

I always figured it was because the restaurant never smelled as good as my Aunt's house when she served her made from scratch sauerbraten, red cabbage and ****offel kloesse! ;)
