Early Bird Special

We ate at Amelia's in the Waterfrontinn and they had early bird specials that included a salad and dessert! My husband had 2 pork shanks with mashed potaotes and carrots and I had chicken pot pie. There was another offering, but I can't remember what it was. It was delicious! My dish came out with a puff pasrty and the pot pie filling in a gravy boat. The server offered to fill the pastry, or I could do it. (I let him do it, I was afraid I would make a mess!) Each meal only cost $8.95. When the manager came to our table to ask how everthing was, I asked her how long they have been doing an early bird special and she said that they just started it this week and they will advertise in next weeks Daily Sun. She said they working out the kinks before they go "public".
I also overheard that RedSauce is having a soft opening on Monday the 26th on LSL. What does soft opening mean? I wanted to ask the table next to us, but then I would have had to explain that I was eavesdropping!

Soft opening usually means without a lot of attention. In other words not a Grand Opening. Sometimes a restaurant will just tell workers, friends and family. That way they have a receptive, positive crowd to work out the glitches. Then after they make adjustments they open a week or to later with more fanfare.

A soft opening means they will be open for meal service but it is subject to changes to correct flaws prior to a Grand Opening.

Kind of a dress rehersal

That makes sense. The manager at the Waterfront did tell the couple that she didn't believe it would be open to the public until February.

There is a sign in front of RedSauce announcing they are opening to the public on January 26th. It also has their menu on it which looks good. Italian theme to it.

7951, Where is the RedSauce located?

Kelly, do you know the time of the Early Bird Special at Amelias?

Occasionally, we'll have a really late lunch if we're seeing a movie. So that would be perfect. And then (I shudder to admit it), we have popcorn for dinner!

Early bird dinner

:icon_hungry: The early bird dinners start at 4 and end at 6pm. The manager said they will have 3 offerings everyday, 7 days a week. We made reservations for next week already!
