Washer and Dryer needed....

My wife and I are coming down for a few days to get started on furnishing our new home in Labelle. One of the first things we will be looking for is a new washer and dryer. Can anyone point us in the right direction for this purchase? I know about Best Buy, Lowe's and Home Depot. Just wondering if there is another place the Villagers might know of.... Thanks in advance!!!

You pretty much have the Big 3 for those types of appliances, at least in the immediate area of TV. No idea if Ocala might have other options, but delivery cost is always a factor the further away you go. You should have an easy time picking something up at Lowe's or HD I would think......Best Buy seems to usually be priced a bit higher from my experience (unless they're having a huge sale or something). Good luck!!

If you have a VA card showing you are a veteran (that is all they accept), Lowes will give you a 10 percent discount on everything you buy. On a washer and dryer, this saves a big chunk!

Other places to try: Appliance Direct on 441 in Fruitland Park, and HHGregg in Ocala.

This place advertises on television quite a lot, you can see this week's sale at this link.

Appliance Direct, Home Appliances, Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers, Ranges, Freezers, Central Florida

How about buying it online and have it delivered while your here!

The last time I looked, Best Buy was the best place to purchase but one must look around for the best pricing.

HH Gregg was second but they are in Ocala. Best Buy is local, as well as, Lowe's and HD.

In my opinion, Lowe's is better than both Best Buy and Home Depot because they deliver and install using their own truck and employees. They also allow 30 days to report a defect, where Home Depot requires you to point out any cosmetic defects immediately upon delivery. Also, I think Best Buy and Home Depot rely on contractors or the manufacturer to deliver and install.

We did that through Lowe's but I didn't notice where the lint filter was located on the dryer in the picture. It's one of those that pull from the top. [emoji33] Got the Maytag commercial series so I figured I was doing good. Stupid location, lint drops on top of the dryer as its being pulled out.
Sometimes seeing it in person is the best way to go.

One of the disappointments for us was the lack of the locally owned appliance stores.

Consumer Report is your best bet....the purchase place and price will be answered by your finding's there. I live by CR and have never been burned. Best of Luck.

The last time I purchased appliances from a local guy was 30 years ago. When the delivery was complete I asked them to take the boxes after I tipped them. They said there was no room in the truck for the boxes that the appliances came in. Well, today I wouldn't allow that to happen. I was a nicer guy then, today not so much.
So, 6 years forward I went back for new appliances because we bought a new house. I asked the owner to make sure they take the boxes this time. He replied, we can't. I walked out and he lost a customer.
I've had too many bad experiences with the small local guy. Now I go national retailer only.

You must be from the Tri-State area. All yous people have an attitude. I love it. I know the home boys in the first minute of a conversation. That "edge" is leaving me already. :2excited:

I'll never loose it. It's in my DNA. Well, I say that now anyway.
