We are new here to The villages. My son and their children are coming here to visit (from NC). Are there any discounts we can get at Disneyworld since we are residences of The Villages? Any ideas or tips would be appreciated. THANKS!!

Just an FYI, The Florida resident discounts require proof of residency for anyone trying to enter any of the parks with those tickets. Your NC resident family members would not qualify.

If you purchase tickets in advance please be sure to utilize their free FASTPASS system, which allows you to reserve times at 3 attractions ahead of time that essentially allow you to skip the standard line. It will make your visit much more enjoyable.

If you aren't comfortable in setting it up online, your son could likely help you out.

Also, the Florida resident discount is available, but only for residents of the state and won't include your visitors. If you are up for spending a long day at WDW, look into buying the "park hopper" tickets that allow you to visit more than one park in a day.

Untrue. For ticket purchase, Fl residency can be proved with your TV ID Card AND your FL Driver's License OR a personal check (with your TV address on it) OR your FL debit card from local FL bank. You DO NOT NEED a FL Driver's License. Your immediate family members (children), regardless of where they are from will have entry into the park no problem!

You can also get great Florida residence rates on Disney hotels!

I do not know if FL resident discounts work with uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, grand parents or "other" family, but it DOES work for your own children regardless of age or residence.

Seems that a bit of the above info is slightly less than accurate, so in the interest of not sending someone down that lonely path to "non-entry", here are the factual residency requirements from the Disney website:

Florida Resident Tickets:
Proof of a Florida residential address is required. For each ticket purchased for an adult, you may provide any of the following:

Valid Florida Drivers License (must have a Florida address)
Valid Florida State-issued ID Card (must have a Florida address)
Valid Florida-based military ID
If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then you must provide one of the following, dated within the past two (2) months evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):

Proof of Current Mortgage
Monthly mortgage statement not older than two (2) months old
Deeds, Mortgage Contracts, Mortgage Payment Booklets and leases are not accepted.

Bills, Policies or Registration
Current homeowner's insurance policy or bill
Current automobile registration, insurance policy or bill
Current Utility bill (Power / Phone / Cable / Water)
Bills can be no more than two (2) months old (PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency).

Mail
Mail from financial institutions; including checking, savings or investment account statements
Mail from Federal, State, County or City government agencies
Mail can be no more than two (2) months old (PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency)

One form of Florida residency validation as listed above is required. Additional members of the same household must only provide proof of same residential address.

Current statements and bills printed from electronic versions are accepted, along with electronic bills provided via smart phones and tablet devices.

Try to buy tickets thru UndercoverTourist.com and Parksavers.com They offer the best discounts. FASTPASSES can (and should) be selected 30-days before if not staying on property, but 60-days if staying on prop. Florida residents do get discounts on any of the 22-hotels on the property. Need to plan ahead when going to Disney. People make dinner reservations 180-days before for all the popular restaurants - meals w/characters are especially hard to get.

Why not give Disneyworld a call yourself. Cast members are extremely helpful. We are season pass holders and if we have questions or reservations online somehow aren't working, a quick call to the mouse's house gets all back on track....407-939-7813.

You will only be able to purchase "Florida Resident" passes with some kind of Florida id. You cannot buy "Florida Resident" passes for anyone but yourself. You must prove that you live or own property in Florida. If not, then you must buy a regular-price pass. I cannot buy a "Florida Resident" ticket for my son who lives in GA. AAA use to have a deal that would allow grandparents to buy tickets for their grandchildren, but they discontinued that a while ago.

For future reference the best time to visit a park is Oct thru first half of Nov and mid Jan until mid March. Non-tourist season, weather is better and little wait time.

We paid FULL PRICE for our kids. We got the resident discount.
This was for this season. Your kids must have proof of residency to get discounts at the gate.

After reading all the post I am so glad I only made one trip to Disney before thaings got so complex. Is it really worth it now?
