Verizon's New Wireless Network Extender
If your cell phone doesn't work the same everywhere in your home, you may be interested in a new device which Verizon Wireless has started selling. It's a book-sized device that boosts cell phone signals within your home for a one-time purchase of $250.
The Verizon Wireless Network Extender connects to a broadband Internet line, and acts like a miniature cell tower in your home. Verizon doesn't plan to charge a monthly fee but I wonder if this device would work with Comcast cable? Anyone have any experience? George |
If my cell phone didn't function the same in every room of my house I would go with another provider, why would anyone pay another $250???

You make a good point but Verizon has one of the best coverages of the major players, and yet I sometimes see a difference in the signal strength between the front and the back of the house. I suspect you'll see more of these devices as people increasingly give up their land-lines and go solely cellular.
