Fences in The Villages
 

I was always under the impression that fences were not allowed in The Villages. Recently I was driving through Pine Ridge and observed about 4 blocks of houses under construction with solid vinyl fences in back yards. Is this an experiment? These were no villas but appeared to be designer homes.

The builder can install fences. See them along Buena Vista at the cottages of Lake Sumter. Elsewhere too...BUT that said residents cannot install them!!

Maybe there is going to be something behind the houses that allows this fence to be put up. Some utility etc.

Perhaps The Developer is doing another experiment.
There were a few blocks of designer homes with vinyl fences built in 2008 on/around Nash Loop.
I heard, from an unreliable source, that the experiment was unsuccessful.

If you ever drove around Nash loop and looked at the fences you would know why the experiment failed.

Can you tell me where you actually saw the fences. I drove around there this afternoon and couldn't find them.

I think I would love to find a new home that has a privacy fence..... Let me know where to look. thanks

If you turn onto Conservation Trail from Moyer Loop they are on the right (south) side. 3 streets of Cottage homes with 6 ft white vinyl privacy fences

My preference is to erect natural green barriers.

Fences promotes good neighbors, but don't always garrentee them. Nothing like fence to keep you're neighbor nose in his own yard especially high solid barrier.:popcorn::icon_wink:

I stayed in the village of Alden last week and all the back yards were fenced in. Brand new village in Brownwood.

There isn't a Village of Alden, do you mean 'Alden Bunglows' on Powell Rd. behind the Publix? You were on a Lifestyle Visit (LSV)? Those are Courtyard Villas, referred to as CYV on this website. Those are not single homes, CYV's are built in cluster communities with a wall around the entire community of villas with a community name and then fences are installed with each unit. They are the only homes that are built with fences and for that reason, can command higher prices for the amount of real estate.

Me too, although they are against the rules after they are six feet tall.

Instant green fence. Drop a dozen Bottle Brush plants into small holes and wait two years.

Finding a house that backs up to a CYV neighborhood might be something to consider. You get to share their wall. TV houses often are sited on their lots in a way that maximizes side yard privacy. If you don't need to be totally backyard fenced, CYV neighbors behind your house might be your answer.

Of course, it all boils down to getting good neighbors.

Has anyone heard about this "experiment"?
