Boil water alert for tall trees village
Noticed a very small article in today's Daily Sun/Local p. C5 under "Briefs" where it seems that Tall Trees' residents are under a "boil water" alert until the problem is corrected and the water samples pass the bacteriological tests.
Guess that explains why there were three trucks parked alongside our home here in Polo Ridge yesterday with men surrounding the water meters bordering our yard. We merely assumed that they were checking the water-meter functions and never gave thought to something so serious as the possibility of bacterial pollution!! |
I would think with a water problem like that The Villages would put a front page alert out in the newspaper and broadcast it on the televison. That's what they do here in Michigan. Glad you spotted that, Barb, and are here to alert others.

A small article in the Sun regarding such an important alert? For shame! Unsafe water could cause serious problems in the elderly. I certainly hope they contacted each individual homeowner affected by telephone or by posting a note on their door. |
How Odd!
I would be very surprised if they did not notify each home in Tall Trees. Just that small blub would be extremely dangerous. Especially for someone like me, that never reads the Daily Sun.
Had a friend in Illinois that almost diet from bacteria in the water. He was very, very ill. :yuck: |
Chels
Water contamination as a way to "diet"?....:crap2: LOL...just funnin' with ya g/f. |

We heard the water problem mentioned a few times on the radio Thursday. It also appeared scrolling across the bottom of the screen Thursday evening on VNN. |

I'm not sure if this is related....
But, on Thursday afternoon I was driving down Parr Drive and pretty close to where the Tall Trees entrance is there was water bubbling up on the grass on the north side of Parr Drive and an official looking guy standing over it. I suspect it was a water main break...perhaps due to the cold? |
I am surprised that TV does not have a reverse 911 call system. This is a public notification system that will call all the homes within a defined area and play a recorded message such as a boil water alert. If you are not home then the system will leave a message on your answering machine.
