smell coming off Evans Prairie

There is a strong odor from the reclaimed water used to water Evan's Prairie. Any idea why it is so strong?

It is summer. VERY hot. The water is like a petri dish. Bacteria is growing in it.

It is stinky coming out of our sprinkler system too, when it first starts up.

Played there today, Egret to Kildeer. The Egret course was covered with fertilizer pellets. It looks like a product I use at home called Milorgrite, which is an organic non-burning product. I believe it's dried manure, you can smell it pretty strong on Egret. You get use to it after a few holes and don't even think about anymore.

It's not the water. Thursday afternoon they put down what I assume was fertilizer. They drove the tractor within 20 feet of my lanai as I was sitting on it, and that stuff STANK. The wind was blowing it right through the screen and I had a coating on my furniture. This was on Egret, they probably did Killdeer and Osprey on different days.

I use the same product on my yard. The neighbors love it for the next five days!

Organic pig manure from what I've been told; stinks like it.

Nope, not pig manure. Milwaukee people manure.

That being said ~ it works well.

I guess some do not understand that the beautiful, golf course, fairways just do not "happen". You have to fertilize and most fertilizers are made up of either chemicals or manure. The smell will go away in a few days or after a good rain. The same fertilizers were use on Belglade just a few days ago. If you don't like the smell then move off the golf course.
