Bringing down our smart car, from Michigan. Who did you use to transport and pros and cons. Did you put any items in the car when it shipped?

Sorry, cannot help with long haul, we brought 3 cars and a truck down on the AutoTrain, cheaper then hauler, but Lorton, VA is a distance from Michigan.
|
We used uship.com. post your item and get bids to move. Picked up on Sat del on Monday in Indiana. Moved on open flatbed trailer.
|
I forgot to mention, we did bring one car down with the furniture (covered moving van), United Van Lines, went very well but very costly, $1300 if a recall correctly.
|
Bruce Ice moved us from West Coast, that is a considerable distance, just trying to help.

Just remember you usually get what you pay for. Stay away from an open trailer as a lot of debris can be kicked up to damage your car from Michigan to Florida.

I have checked auto transporters for our '67 Mustang from Michigan, and very pricey. It's still in MI. But there was another thread on this topic within the last couple of years. OP might do a search for it. |

Reliable Carriers.
They are not cheap, but they take good care of "your baby." |
I have had good luck with these people 2 times from the Midwest. Good service and good rates. eagletransport@ymail.com or call Paul at 847-983-0896. Website is EagleAutoTransport.com you can request a quote from the website

Ever watch "shipping wars" om HGTV? They are the guys you hire. I wouldn't trust them to move a rock without damage.
If you drive it down, you still at least one night lodging, meals and (according to AAA) $0.50 a mile. |
OK one more time. We moved from the West Coast, that is about 3000+ miles, that is a considerable distance.
We are not a relative of Bruce just had a good experience with him, Bruce Ice, Iceman Movers is local, is in the papers, he did a good job, he has a 40 foot totally enclosed van, he does what you want, try it out, no connection with him ourselves, just satisfied with his professionalism. bbbbbb |
We used UShip. Very reasonable, just moved from Michigan. We moved our household belongings and Harley Trike all in and enclosed trailer for $1600. Shipper was licensed, bonded and insured.
