Downton Abbey. Season 5.

Downton Abbey, Season 5 | Downton Abbey | Programs | Masterpiece | Official Site | PBS

I have been having a Downton Abbey marathon the last few weeks.

Must say that this series is very entertaining and it is available at various Villages' area libraries in DVD.

I am really going to miss it when I reach the last episode in Season 6.

There seems to be a lot of books related to Downton Abbey. The book that inspired ‘Downton Abbey' - WTOP

Loved Downton Abbey, especially Cousin Violet. Hated to see this series end. Wonderful scenery, costumes, and the best actors.

She does have some of the wittiest lines. She reminds me a lot of my late Grandma before she got Alzheimer's bad at about age 95. She wanted to reach 100 so my Aunt lied to her that she had made 100 a few months prior to that goal and my Grandmother passed peacefully believing she had made that benchmark a few days afterwards at 99. I did want her to make it but she rarely even recognized anyone anymore.

You aunt sounds lovely, your grandmother had a horrible disease and after suffering she had a peaceful passing, that's a good thing. Yes, I agree, Cousin Violet sure had me laughing at her antics and comments. A show that is sorely missed.

Those beautiful clothes are on tour. Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times. The exhibit is in Cincinnati right now. It is coming to Florida next year, to St. Augustine..........

I would really like to see it........although, I must admit that when I hear about clothes on tour, I have to laugh because it makes me think about an old SNL skit, SEE ELVIS PRESLEY'S COAT! (It was in the 70s when SNL was funny and we all were so darned cute (sigh)..........I remain, shamelessly in love with Steve Martin.)

I digress.........

That might be something of interest to a group from here in the Villages?

I so agree. . .one of the best series on TV in the past 20 years. And the series ended before they "jumped the shark" and started to go downhill.

It is brilliantly acted, directed and written.

I got a big crush on the Daisy character.
