Having a small tree taken out.

Have a 5 year old tree that is dying. I'm looking for a reference for someone to do removal and haul away. Thanks

Make sure you submit your desire to cut down a tree in the Villages, to the ARC, they also will send out an arborist to look at it, free of charge. So many fly by night tree cutters, make sure you hire a one that is licensed and insured.

be sure to call and get approval to remove or they could fine you depending on the tree

The VHA Voice is in today's paper. Take a look at page 6 where there is a list of tree trimmers that have been approved by the Town of Lady Lake. One would assume that they are reputable. Good luck!

This isn't an oak tree. It's a tree I planted.

It doesn't matter who planted the tree or whether it is an oak or not. If the tree has a diameter of more than 4 inches you have to get permission from the ARC. The only exception is if you live in a villa and then no permission is needed.

Except palm trees, they are not considered canopy trees by the arc. That's what they told me when I called about queen Palm 5 months ago.

Since there is no enforcement of anything in TV I'm not sure it matters if you let them know. The only way any thing is remotely considered is if someone drops a dime....and then not much is done. Lot's of lawn ornament violations and nobody cares.
