Is anyone still watching VNN? If so, why.

Is one to take from this question, that you are not?

I've tried... it's just not the same. I remember the good old days with all the Home Showcase shows. And of course those young, enthusiastic reporters!

VNN Unbearable to Watch

There was a time when VNN was fun to watch and its staff won numerous awards for its efforts. It had a spirit, a personality about it. It appears to no longer be much of a priority. Follow the money. The amateur product today is the best example of "you get what you pay for" and it appears the developer/Media Group no longer has much use for VNN. Once enough people no longer watch it it will be easy for VNN to just disappear and no one will even notice. IMHO practically speaking I doubt VNN pays its own way and given the current economic climate, the developer would rather preserve the Daly Sun than keep pumping money into VNN, and that's their right. It's just sad to see something with such potential shrivel and die.

Is Clearlink part of the Villages Media Group? I still see their vehicles here and there in the Villages.

On the other hand.... I simply love to listen to WVLG. I think it is fantastic and always have it on.

All of your comments are on the money and speaking of money, or the lack of it, is the primary reason any part of a media group not pulling it's weight will be changed, overly managed, or dropped for lack of interest and viewers. The only thing that raises a question for me is what requirements have been laid down by the FCC for such things to happen? All TV and Radio stations require a license and they are also renewable; so if this WVNN goes out of business why couldn't an aspiring media group acquire the license from the FCC?

VNN isn't a licensed transmitter. It's a closed circuit cable feed. No FCC ticket needed.

WVLG vs WRZN

I used to listen to WVLG also. But someone put me on to WRZN (720AM)
out of Hernando. Much better station (plays lots more big band). Unfortunately forget picking them up between 6P and 7A. They just fade away.

I usually fade away shortly after then too!
