Day Trip From The Villages
 

Mrs. Trap and I took a very enjoyable daytrip today from The Villages. We went to Weeki Wachee State Park which is about a 1 hr, 20 min. drive away from here.

It is a cheap trip with the admission to the State Park at $13 pp OR $60 for a 1 year access pass to all Florida State Parks OR a Free Lifetime access pass to Florida disabled veterans.

The park is small and can easily be seen in a couple of hours. There is a short boat ride on the Weeki Wachee springs. There is the world famous Mermaid Show which is really quite impressive. There is a short reptile exhibit and show with native reptiles - including a 4 foot alligator.

There is a swimming area that looked very inviting but we did not plan on that. Also, the water is 74 degrees! Not Villages approved temperature by any means.

It is fun to get out now and then to different day trip destinations. Go explore!

I happily second your positive comments. We took our Nashville grandchildren there on Spring Break. They enjoyed it, as did we.

We took our two youngest grandkids there yesterday. It was a very good day for the kids.
