Is Slumdog Millionaire your favorite movie of the last decade?
 

I have heard Slumdog Millionaire called "feel good film of the decade" as well as one of the best movies of the decade.

What's your opinion?

I am polling with the Best Picture winners of this decade so far to see which one of these is the most popular for TOTVers.

My favorite movie of the past decade would probably be Sideways.

2005 should read Million Dollar Baby. I cannot seem to get in and edit it.

Slum was a fair movie, but certainly not best picture. The last 10 years have not been great in my opinion. There are 3 on the list above that were quality pictures. I'm really a fan of the old old movies.

Big box office movies are mostly hype fueled by the "stars" who "act" in the movie. Plot and dialogue are secondary. Slum dog was a big suprise.....i didn't see it but i will consider it.
Meanwhile, it is fair to say, i prefer off the wall movies that few ever see and even fewer compliment. Last night i watched "below the belt 1980" a movie about female wrestling. Wierd? Yes. Great? Not hardly. Enjoyable with interesting characters? Absolutly. "below the belt 1980"; it was in my comcast encore movie package.

Sideways has an extremely high rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Tal, I'm with you, I loved Sideways. I also liked Juno a lot (last year).

Slumdog was well acted and produced. I know the violence was necessary to authentically show his "roots", but they lost me when they showed orphans' eyes being gouged out to make them better beggars.

Barefoot liked Juno a lot more than No Country for Old Men.
 

Barefoot. Juno was one of my favorite movies from 2008.

I didn't see them movie yet but if this happens in real life then perhaps the story needed it?
