Smoke

What is on fire? Lots of smoke in the air.

I was just over at Grand Traverse plaza and it was very smokey. I'm guessing that they are burning trees from a land clearing project near there, at least that is what is smelled like to me.

Trail Winds Development is removing and burning large oak trees on the property directly across from Palmetto and Osprey courses.

And the wind has been blowing from the north-northeast all day - on a line from Trailwinds Village to Grand Traverse Plaza.

I even noticed it up at Spanish Springs earlier.

I've seen the debris burn there, but not today. I drove past at 2:30. Alot of dust blowing, but no fire.

They do, but a burn permit to clear land, build, and increase tax revenue supersedes a whiff of smoke for a couple of days.

Was controlled burn in Ocala National forest, as reported in todays Daily Sun.

champion6 08-27-2016 07:42 AM

Today's Daily Sun says this: "The smell from a prescribed burn in the Ocala National Forest drifted down to The Villages on Friday..."

mulligan 08-28-2016 06:52 AM
