Cable questions
We are FINALLY going to get a flat screen TV. We currently have full basic cable@ $52 per month. Does anyone know what we will pay with digital and DVR?
Also, what about Dish TV? Is there a price difference? What is the difference between DVR and TEVO? Are both availale here? Thanks. |
Comcast supplies a digital signal so there should be no addtional cost.

I'm sure there will be additional cost for HD programming (otherwise you will not get the HD channels) and for DVR, which is essentially the same concept as TEVO. You can probably find the pricing options on the Comcast web site.
By the way, does anyone know if Verizon provides services in TV. I understand that their new FIOS service is great. I live in an area where AT&T provides Uverse service, which is the equivilent to the Verizon FIOS. The AT&T service is very good, but I am not sure if it is available in TV. I switched to the AT&T Uverse from Cox Cable. I understand that the Cox service, which I thought was very good also, is better than Comcast's. I do belived that the AT&T tv picture is better than Cox Cable's, and the service is less expensive. It would be nice if Verizon was available to provide reasonable competition to Comcast. |
Digital cable (Full basic plus digital w/On Demand) is $68.45. HDTV/DVR Service (the box) is $13.95 for a total of $82.40. This price will go up about $6 in April when the Comcast prices change.
This includes no HBO, Sports programming, etc. Z |
